The Obituary

A Life Remembered

Born with promise. Acquired with synergy. Passed away quietly in a spreadsheet.

Here lies Denver Beer Co. in Olde Town Arvada, which departed this earthly tap list sometime shortly after 2025, when it was acquired by Wilding Brands and entered the great tasting room in the sky.

In its younger years, Denver Beer Co. was a lively gathering place. Neighbors came together over fresh beer, decent food, and the radical notion that a brewery should feel like part of the community rather than a line item in a quarterly earnings report.

Then came the acquisition.

Wilding Brands arrived bearing PowerPoint decks, strategic initiatives, and the unwavering confidence of people who believe "customer experience optimization" is a substitute for flavor. What followed was a remarkable transformation: prices went up, quality went down, and every pint began to taste faintly of private equity.

The once-beloved brewery slowly lost its soul, replaced by the sterile efficiency of corporate stewardship. The beer became forgettable, the menu uninspired, and the atmosphere carried the distinct aroma of cost-cutting and shareholder value.

In lieu of flowers, mourners are encouraged to support independent breweries where the beer is still brewed by people who care more about hops than EBITDA.

Services will be held during happy hour, though no one is entirely sure if happy hour is still worth attending.

Rest in peace, Denver Beer Co. You were loved in life, and leveraged in death.
